3 Easy Ways to Improve Your Health for 2020

The new year has well and truly begun and January is definitely a time where we all feel motivated to make positive changes in our lives. Here at the Bodyline Clinic, we’re keen to help our clients make 2020 their healthiest year yet, so to kickstart a great year for us all, we’re going to be sharing 3 easy ways anyone can improve their health in 2020!

Regularly Taking Probiotics and Vitamins

So many of us are lacking in vitamins and probiotics and don’t even realise and these things take a toll on how we feel every single day, so one easy to way to improve your health, mood and daily life is to regularly take the probiotics and vitamins that YOU need.

Everybody is different, so each one of us needs slightly different vitamins to improve our health but one thing we can all benefit from is good gut bacteria. Particularly if you take a lot of antibiotics for health conditions, taking probiotics to help the gut back to full health is essential and they’re so easy to take in the form of a yoghurt drink!

Probiotic drinks are super affordable to pick up in the supermarket and after a few months of taking them consistently, stomach and digestive issues, in particular, are often relieved.

As for vitamins, everyone in the UK could benefit from taking additional Vitamin D, especially in the winter months but as for other vitamins and minerals such as Calcium, Vitamin C, Omega 3, etc, book in with your GP to find out what you need to be taking.

Walking 10,000 Steps a Day

It sounds cliché but walking 10,000 steps a day really is a quick fix to improving health and fitness. It isn’t always easy, especially if you work long hours sat down and in the winter, walking in the dark and cold is less than appealing but in the name of health, it is worth it.

We haven’t all got hours a day to head out on countryside walks, so most of us could do with a few hacks for cramming in those steps and luckily for our Bodyline members, there’s a whole article on BOD on how to get your 10,000 steps a day in but some ideas could include:

  • Taking the stairs instead of the lift
  • Parking your car further away from the office or shop door
  • Taking the dog on an extra walk a day
  • Walking to the shop on your lunch break instead of driving if possible

Reducing Alcohol Intake

Many of us will be embarking on the Dry January challenge to get 2020 off to a good start but this may be a good idea for keeping up all year.

We all know that excessive alcohol consumption isn’t good for us and that is actually recommended that one drink more regularly is better for us than multiple drinks once a week but however you drink your tipples, they’re never very good for us.

A lot of alcohol is high in calories, adding extra calories on top of our food intake but being drunk and having a hangover often leads to cravings for junk food, causes fatigue which means we’re less likely to exercise and generally makes us slower and less active.

Because of this, reducing how often we drink alcohol or cutting it out altogether is definitely one of the best choices we can make for our bodies, so why not try the no-booze challenge for 2020?

We’re dedicated to helping our clients improve their health this year by offering support in clinic and whilst you’re on the go, so for more tips and tricks like these, make sure you’re signed up to the BOD member’s platform!
