Frequently asked questions

Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT, is a treatment that involves taking hormones to replace the ones your body is no longer producing. This can be done through pills, patches, creams, gels, implants, or injections.

Standard HRT offers a simple, standardised response to symptoms of menopause, with prescriptions consisting of typical, standard dose levels, of estrogen and progesterone.

Alternatively, the BHRT prescription on our M Plan is personalised to each individual client based on blood analysis and screening along with a client’s personal menopause symptoms. Our choice of bespoke HRT treatments includes Oestrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, and DHEA – some of which are not available on the NHS.

Yes, usually it is a very quick and easy transition from standard HRT to bioidentical and bespoke HRT treatments.

It can vary from person to person as to how long their symptoms may last, and what their medical history and blood profiling suggest. It is advisable to take HRT up to 5 years, however BHRT is safe to be taken across a lifetime.

BHRT rarely produces side effects in users when prescribed optimally. Side effects may appear when dosages are not at their most efficient levels, which is why follow up appointments are crucial for a successful menopause journey on BHRT.

Standardised HRT’s side effects are also rare, but treatments with estrogen and progesterone can cause spotting, irregular bleeding, headaches, and breast tenderness.

Contact our bespoke hormone replacement experts today to discuss what plans work for your budget!

There are many symptoms of menopause including changes to menstrual cycle, weight gain, low libido, sleep problems, hot flushes and night sweats, vaginal dryness and discomfort, urinary incontinence, thinning hair, tiredness, joint pain, anxiety and stress, low mood, mood swings, lack of motivation, lack of confidence, palpitations, loss of libido, irritability, poor memory, brain fog, loss of focus, forgetfulness, and dementia.

Based on blood analysis with our bespoke BHRT treatments on the M Plan, we may prescribe hormones which match your needs. These can be any from the following: Estrogen Progesterone Testosterone and DHEA.

Bodyline discuss your menopause symptoms and analyse your blood to determine if you require testosterone and DHEA.  If needed, you will be prescribed testosterone and DHEA.

Yes, your blood test will test for Vitamin D3 and Vitamin B12 vitamin levels and then Bodyline can treat any deficiencies as part of the M Plan.

It couldn’t be easier to start your journey with us here at Bodyline. All you need to do is call our dedicated team on 0800 995 6036 to book your appointment.

Our team will talk you through all of our hormone replacement treatments and how they work depending on where you live in the country.

We understand that you will want to start your treatment as soon as possible and we are pleased to inform you that we do not have waiting lists.

You do not need a GP’s referral letter to be seen in our clinic.

To get the ball rolling with Bodyline’s bespoke hormone treatments, first contact our hormone replacement experts by calling 0800 995 6036, or filling in an online contact form for a call back.

During an initial consultation for BHRT on the M Plan, your full medical history will be analysed, your menopausal symptoms will be reviewed, and your bloods will be taken. This appointment will take approximately 45 minutes.

In your second consultation, we will interpret your blood results and raise a prescription script tailored to your symptoms and hormone/vitamin deficiencies.

A bespoke M Plan -menopause treatment and support plan – will be agreed including, if appropriate, your personal hormone replacement prescription, any vitamin supplement requirements, as well as nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle advice.   At this point we will sign you up to our menopause support subscription service.

Bodyline recognise that the menopause is a naturally evolving process and that as your symptoms change your medication doses may need to be adjusted and extra support provided. Bodyline’s M Plan -Unlimited provides full menopause support during the first three months of treatment and beyond if required.

When you feel more like yourself you can switch to Bodyline’s M Plan – Choice.  You will have access to a Specialist Menopause Nurse consultation every three months to make any changes to your plan and medications.  Our menopause team are always there for you in-between your consultations, all you need to do is email our customer services team with your concerns and they will take payment for your ad-hoc support.

Once we have taken your bloods, we will organise a follow up consultation, either face to face or remotely over video call approximately 10 days later. This is where the Specialist Menopause Nurse will interpret your results, discuss your options, and prescribe if appropriate.

Bodyline Clinic offers both individually prescribed bioidentical hormones, and standardised hormone replacement therapy, with our treatments tailor made to suit each patient uniquely. The nurse led support and bespoke hormone treatments allow us to target the symptoms of menopause you suffer from directly, while giving you the place you need to get advice, guidance, and motivation along your HRT journey.

We include perimenopause and post-menopause, meaning you can get in touch with Bodyline at any stage of the change, this is not usually offered with other healthcare providers. Our medications are sourced from UK accredited laboratories and MRHA regulated laboratories.

You will receive repeat consultations and support calls depending which support plan you choose. This is part of our service as Bodyline offers regular support and lifestyle advice from in-house clinical menopause experts who have treated over 100,000 patients with clinical wellness services.

It can vary from person to person. Some women experience relief from menopause symptoms very quickly, however others must wait up to three months for the treatment to fully take effect.

If you still experience symptoms after three months on HRT, you may need to change dosage and for a bespoke treatment tailored to your individual needs.
