What is the TAP® II Blood Collection Device?

When opting for holistic, high-quality healthcare, it’s important to learn as much as you can about the latest tools and equipment that can help offer the very best diagnosis and treatments.

That’s why we’ve chosen to use the Tap II Blood Collection Device as part of many of our EXPLORE diagnostic wellness treatment solutions, so that we can take blood samples as easily as possible, without the need for appointments, waiting rooms, or scheduling.

But what is the TAP® II Blood Collection Device, and how does it work?

How does blood collection work with a TAP® II device?

The TAP® II is a device designed for the sterilized collection of a blood sample, at home and by the user. Meaning you can take your own blood, painlessly and from the comfort of your home, with the ability to properly package and send off the sample to a laboratory who will be able to use the sample for analysis and testing.

The device is placed on your upper arm, and “blood collection starts with a simple press of a button”.

There is an array of microneedles that very quickly puncture the skin to draw blood, and the device will apply a “gentle vacuum” to draw the blood down into the tube.

Once the sample collection has finished, the tube, containing your blood, is easily removed from the TAP® II device so it can be sent off to a central laboratory where samples are tested and analysed for a number of health markers.

You do not have to be a health professional to be able to understand how to use the device, because it has been ergonomically designed for the average person to collect their blood safely and easily. However, if you are in a Bodyline clinic, a nurse may assist in the blood test collection.

It must be sent off on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to ensure it is sent to the laboratory in time for accurate testing.

There are handy videos to understand the process exactly:

How does the TAP® II device work for me?

If you have come to a Bodyline medical wellness treatment clinic for diagnostic the TAP® II device can help identify the key biomarkers and hormone levels to ensure you receive personalised treatment and guidance completely bespoke to what you need.

We use an independent laboratory to analyze the blood sample you provide by using the device. With that analysis we are able to offer expert diagnostics within a consultation with one of our experienced clinical nurses.

This transition can lead to various physical and emotional symptoms, ranging from hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings to depression, memory loss, and osteoporosis.
