Estrogen

Estrogen is the female hormone that helps regulate a woman’s passage through puberty, fertility and menopause. It is one of the most powerful hormones in the human body. When women go through the menopause, their ovaries begin to stop producing it. This happens gradually, over the build towards menopause, but once the ovaries halt oestrogen production women can experience life altering symptoms. These symptoms can include brain fog, lack of sex drive, osteoporosis cholesterol, hot flushes, poor skin and hair and sleep deprivation to name a few. This treatment will provide the body with oestrogen as a replacement, targeting the symptoms and improving life quality.

Progesterone

In the lead up to the menopause a woman’s ovaries produce significantly less and less progesterone. This is the hormone that is produced in the ovaries and controls the uterine lining during menstruation, but also aids in blood pressure regulation and sleep cycles. In this period of a woman’s life, she can experience symptoms like irritability, blood pressure issues, low mood, migraines, and weight gain around the stomach. Progesterone HRT can mitigate these symptoms and make the lead up to menopause a remarkably better experience.

Testosterone

Testosterone is a sex hormone and an anabolic steroid. Although it is typically considered a male hormone, women also produce testosterone, just in smaller amounts. Testosterone levels in women are at their highest during adolescence and early adulthood, but decrease as they age. As a result, menopausal women can experience symptoms including a decreased sense of well-being, a loss of vital energy and reduced sexual libido. The benefits of testosterone include an increase in libido, energy, muscle mass, and bone density. It has also been shown to improve memory and can boost self-confidence.

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)

Produced in the adrenal gland, DHEA aids in the production of sex hormones for women in the ovaries. As woman age beyond early twenties, levels of DHEA gradually decrease, with around half lost in women by the age of 45. In turn, this will lower levels of oestrogen or testosterone and impact sleep, libido, and mental health. Therefore, boosting levels of DHEA when they are low can improve a number of symptoms related to menopause, including mood, immunity, and libido. Enhanced DHEA levels can also have anti-aging properties and can protect against diabetes.

Vitamin D is known as the “sunshine vitamin” and often produced in the body from cholesterol when skin is exposed to sunlight.  It works differently to other vitamins and is more like a hormone.  Vitamin D especially important for woman over 40 as it plays a role in moderating perimenopause and menopause symptoms.    Estrogen is believed to increase the activity of the enzyme that activates vitamin D in the body, and so, low oestrogen may diminish vitamin D levels.

One in five adults in the UK have low levels of vitamin D in their blood.   Vitamin D benefits include boosting energy, regulating mood, reducing depression, supporting weight loss, maintaining a healthy functioning immune system, as well as helping your body to regulate the nutrients needed to keep bones, teeth, and muscles strong.   Getting enough Vitamin D is also linked to preventing certain diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.

Bodyline provides Vitamin D as a sublingual spray to maintain Vitamin D levels.  If a deficiency is shown in blood tests, then high dose Vitamin D supplements are medically prescribed to support your health and wellbeing.

Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin that is vital to a healthy and functional body.  Signs of deficiency can be confused with symptoms of menopause. B12 deficiency in perimenopause and menopause increased and can even exaberated menopause symptoms.  The micronutrient is vital in the production of red blood cells and DNA, as well as being key in brain function. When deficient, sufferers can experience fatigue, vision problems, weakness, poor hairs, nails and teeth, depression memory problems, and apathy. Your body does not naturally produce Vitamin B12, and as you age its ability to absorb it from foods will decline.

Bodyline offers Vitamin B12 in the form of injections and sublingual sprays to boost your B12 levels and optimise ageing.
