Losing weight is a simple concept – burn more calories than you consume, and you should notice your waistline shrinking. But it’s far easier said than done.
We’ve compiled a list of things that you do in your every-day life, alongside your Bodyline medication, that will help you shed the pounds without having to put in extra effort.
Sleep
It’s a well-known fact that you are your “true weight” in the morning, and that’s because you lose up to two pounds every single night while you’re asleep! This is primarily due to loss of water, as the body loses this through breathing and by simply getting on with the natural bodily functions as you sleep. This is more efficient for burning calories while you’re in a deep sleep, and therefore getting a full and decent night’s sleep can really aid your weight-loss journey as well as boosting your overall health and wellbeing.
Walking
We may be on lockdown, but now’s your chance to really make the most of that one hours exercise a day, especially whilst the sun is out! The body burns up to about 50 calories every ten minutes of walking at a brisk pace, so your hours exercise should add up to about 300 calories. For weight loss it’s recommended that you walk after mealtimes in order to maximise the number of calories that you burn.
Water
We cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your body hydrated. Drinking a glass of water when you wake up is a great way of kickstarting your metabolism and getting your body ready for the day. Maintaining a good level of hydration throughout the day will help you to lose weight as it acts as a natural appetite suppressant by making you feel more full and allows your body to cleanse itself of waste much faster.
Black Coffee
Drinking a filtered black coffee in the morning is sure to aid your weight loss by boosting the metabolism and giving you that little extra bit of energy in the morning to get you through the day. Be mindful not to add sugar or milk as these are all added calories that you’d be better off without if you want to shed the pounds!
Chew Food
Slowing down your eating by chewing your food thoroughly allows your body to react and gives your stomach time to communicate to your brain that it’s starting to feel full. It also allows more saliva from your mouth to cover your food, which helps the process of breaking down the nutrients and absorbing them, speeding up the rate of digestion. By chewing each mouthful more than ten times, you’ll start to feel fuller and more satisfied after meals and notice that your portion sizes may start to decrease.
Although these are some easy and simple steps that you can start to take in your daily life, we recommend a healthy and well balanced diet alongside regular exercise if you really want to start shedding some weight.
